ABSTRACT

Introduction    Practical medical work needs to improve continuously and upcoming questions need to be scientifically investigated and answered. Research time to perform complex and time-consuming studies is limited. Thus, the aim of MedSciCare is to support busy surgeons / clinicians / physicians on their way from a simple scientific question to a complete trial.

Methods    The following steps transform ideas to publications: (1) feasibility check; (2) study design set up; (3) study implementation; (4) data management; (5) data evaluation; and (6) publication edition.

Results    Significant satisfaction regarding statistical analysis was reported by surgeons. Furthermore, MedSciCare connected clinicians to industrial partners resulting that the study was successfully performed and outcome answering the physicians’ question was finally published.

Conclusion    Research showed a significant time reduction for clinicians / surgeons / physicians by applying at least one of the six steps to support along the way from ideas to publications.
